(story about how life has led me to where i belong)

🎯
one word : curiosity. that, combined with growing up on the internet, eventually led me to crypto.
today, crypto perfectly fits the nerd and the retard inside me. i can't imagine working in any other industry. ever.

🎮 The Origin
- convince my parents to buy me a gaming PC (Nvidia 9600 GT to play FIFA, Age of Empires, Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc.) when i was 13
- discover Bitcoin while troubleshooting GPU drivers on Reddit
- try setting up a BTC node. didn't understand shit. fail. end up only installing a Bitcoin wallet on my hard disk
- mine DOGE years later in 2014. but that hard disk is long gone
🖥️ The Grassroots
- continue to be nerd about tech
- pursue computer engineering as a general extension of me as a person
- realize: data structures, algorithms, etc. are interesting to study, but the physical act of coding was boring af
→ problem-solving was fun; coding it was not
- make right frens at uni
- meet @PandeyMikhil because of shared love for Man United who shills me Ethereum in 2019
- try to explain to me what liquid staking is for 2 hours at 3 AM. don't understand shit. see the passion behind it. respect that
- build e-voting using blockchain as my final year project
- keep curiosity alive
- have intrigue for ‘money’ - not just earning, but the societal idea of human coordination around it
- top my uni in Financial Management subject
- teach myself additional things like cash flow models, reading income statements, equity markets, corporate finance, etc.
- read “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari during the same time and get fascinated by the chapter on Money
💥 The Evolution
- action speaks louder than words
- see Covid crash blackswan event with equities trembling and oil futures going -ve. feel wtf
- treat Covid as opportunity to fuck around, find out. start trading indian equities with a fundamental strategy of 'what makes sense in a post-pandemic world'. invest heavy in pharma, consumption, and tech sectors
- teach myself technical analysis and leverage trading
- work. work. work. work. work.
- start work at an EdTech startup in India in late 2020
- get a promotion + hike → decide to trade crypto (with no idea of coins but just pure TA) in 2021
- final nail in the straw
- come across "CryptoPump Signals' on TG. realize they pump 'PNT' - one of the tokens i bought with 0 knowledge. 7x in 30s in front of my eyes. baffled
- trade crypto on Binance perps with TA on major alts. make money. lose money. fall in love with overall vibes
- feel hollow because don’t understand fundamentals. go down rabbit hole. read ‘How to DeFi’, whitepapers, research reports, Whiteboard Crypto on YouTube, and more. fall in love with overall ethos
- realize: i'd be a fool not to work in / help a revolution (which are usually very hard to come by in a lifetime)
- quit my job and go full-time crypto in late 2022
